⚡I-Tree is a software technology to help assess and manage urban forests and trees developed by the United States Forest Service (USFS), the Davey Institute, and many other research institutes. It currently comes with user-friendly features and is distributed for free. There are currently three tools with a variety of tools and utilities: i-Tree Eco, i-Tree Canopy, and i-Tree Database.
⚡I-Tree can specifically assess the value of each tree, such as leaf area, leaf biomass, tree biomass, stem health, ability to store and absorb CO2, eliminate air pollution, monitor groundwater, as well as monetary value based on various economic theories. The software can be used for assessments on scales ranging from a few hectares to thousands of hectares, equivalent to the size of a park, garden, campus or city.
